Regularisation Certificates

Where development works have been commenced or completed in the absence of a fire safety certificate or the submission of a 7 day notice then an application must be submitted for a Regularisation Certificate.

Any application for a regularisation certificate must be accompanied by a Statutory Declaration. This declaration states that the works comply with Part B of the Building Regulations. It also requires the applicant to agree to an inspection by the Building Control Authority and to carry out any additional works required by the Authority.

Regularisation Certificate applications present particular issues which require a high degree of expertise in Fire Safety compliance

As a consequence of the requirement to provide a Statutory Declaration, the Fire Safety Consultant should perform a comprehensive audit of the commenced or completed works to establish that the development is in compliance with the requirements of Part B of the Building Regulations and should therefore be only undertaken by senior experienced and competent fire safety professionals.

ACCA Engineering Consultants have the experience and competency to perform the fire safety audit required for development associated with a Regularisation Certificate and to address the wide range of fire safety issues which may be identified during such an audit by means of prescribed or fire safety engineered solutions.
